Question: I got an allergy shot at 8:30am this morning, and the injection site is still red and hot 12 hours later...? (Posted by: H on 2010-02-04 19:29:55) Is this normal? I've been getting shots for a few months now, and have gotten a reaction only once before but it didn't last this long! Its painful and hot to the touch.

Posted by: LTV on 2010-02-04, 19:34:52 You will probably need to go back to your previous dose with your next injection. You should be able to take a Benadryl and an Advil (depending on your weight.) Let your doctor/ allergist know tomorrow.
